The Ythan Estuary is not only one of my favorite places for photographing waders, it is simply one of my favorite places. A visit at anytime of the year can give great veiws and wildlife but as the seasons change it is at it's best with new birds passing through all of the time. On a recent visit a group of about 100 Knot were the star of the show.

Knot are classic wading birds and are generally seen in huge flocks swerling above an estuary trying to avoid preditors. getting an image of just one is not so easy however with a little light I managed to isolate this hansom fellow in the last golden rays of the sun.
